MLB Sunday 10 May 2015
Welcome back to a preview for some weekend Baseball. Sunday looks a tricky day, and to be honest there isn’t that many match ups that standout. It’s been a somewhat odd week, results wise, with some favourites getting blown out or giving up the lead late in the game. Some teams just continue to pile up the wins, Yankees and Cardinals look very solid, and it’s all built around the pitching. The Nationals are starting to warm up on the back of Harper’s week of Home Runs so keep and eye out for them. While the Tigers and Royals probably have the most exciting series this weekend. There are still a few games I like and hopefully some winners in there as well.
Best Bet – Dodgers at $1.56
Next Best – Over 9.0 Red Sox/Blue Jays at $1.92
Multi – Dodgers/Astros at $2.91
Kansas City Royal vs Detroit Tigers (3.05am AEST)
Royals ($2.31) – Guthrie
Tigers ($1.64) – Sanchez
Prediction
Tigers. Rematch of a pitching matchup from almost a week ago in KC. Sanchez got the Win, as he retired the first 15 batters in order pitching over 7 innings. He has an impressice record og 6-2 with an ERA of 1.40 in his meetings with the Royals. Guthrie on the other hand is 2-5 with an ERA of 4.53 in his appearances in Detroit. Stick with the numbers here, Tigers win.
Suggested Bet
Tigers at $1.64
Boston Red Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays (3.05am AEST)
Red Sox ($2.13) – Kelly
Blue Jays ($1.75) – Hutchison
Prediction
Blue Jays. Toronto continue to score runs for fun, and this game looks like a battle of the bats. Neither Kelly nor Hutchison have been great so far both allowing at least 5 earned runs in their past 2 starts. Hutchinson likely to get better run support so have to side with the Jays on that factor alone. Run Total set at 9.0, looks to go over. Boston look due some runs as well.
Suggested Bet
Over 9.0 runs at $1.92
Cincinnati Reds vs Chicago White Sox (9.10am AEST) Game 2
Reds ($1.75) – Marquis
White Sox ($2.12) – Rodon
Prediction
White Sox. Game 2 of the back to back set. Highly rated Sox prospect Carlos Rodon gets his debut MLB start here. Huge things expected from this guy in the future and It should be good to see how he copes. Marquis has got on a streak of 3 wins, and bookies have him and the Reds at a rather short price. While his last 2 starts where decent his first 3 of the years were more at his level. Which is below par. Probably a 50/50 game so can’t take odds on.
Suggested Bet
White Sox at $2.12
Los Angeles Dodgers vs Colorado Rockies (10.10am AEST)
Dodgers ($1.56) – Kershaw
Rockies ($2.49) – De La Rosa
Prediction
Dodgers. While Kershaw hasn’t been his best yet this season, his last 3 starts have been encouraging. Coors field will serve up runs and De La Rosa is going to ship a few to the Dodgers bats, who have been hitting home runs for fun. Expect runs, Kershaw much better and likely to somewhat contain the Rockies lineup. Dodgers win, and it could be big.
Suggested Bet
Dodgers at $1.56
Houston Astros vs Los Angeles Angels (11.05am AEST)
Astros ($1.87) – Keuchel
Rockies ($1.97) – Shoemaker
Prediction
Astros. The hot Astros were somewhat cooled of this week however Keuchel continues to put in impressive performances with each start. With only 2 runs allowed in his last 31 innings pitched. Shutting out these Angels only a few weeks back. Shoemaker doesn’t have a great track record against the Astros, so you have to stick with Keuchel at the price available.
Suggested Bet
Astros at $1.87
All Prices Quoted via Sportsbet at time of writing.
