Western Sydney Wanderers v Wellington Phoenix
Saturday 10 March, 7:50pm (AEDT) – Spotless Stadium
On the first of this pair of Saturday matches we have Western Sydney and Wellington going head to head. Western Sydney is at home again this week after hosting Perth last weekend. They’ll be hoping for a much better result though after only managing a draw from that fixture. It was an unusual game too with both sides scoring a goal apiece in the first 15 minutes, but then no further goals for the rest of the match. Western Sydney are currently just holding onto the last of the finals positions, but many more performances like that and they’ll find themselves not playing football at the pointy end of the season. Wellington have had a couple weeks break with their last game being on 23 February. The match was a trip to Bluetongue Stadium to take on Central Coast, unfortunately for them they came away empty handed after losing 1-0. They’re still sitting on the bottom of the table, and while they have the ability to knock out the odd win against the lower sides, they haven’t been doing it of late. Western Sydney probably should win this, they’re not the greatest side going around, but this looks a winnable match for them. That being said, at the $4.50 I’m happy to have a little something on Wellington. Obviously it’s a bit of a risky play, so the $3.35 in the Draw No Bet market might be the safer option to go with.

Perth Glory v Central Coast Mariners
Saturday 10 March, 10:00pm (AEDT) – NIB Stadium
We’ve got a late one Saturday night with Central Coast travelling west to take on Perth at NIB Stadium. Perth travelled to Western Sydney last week and while they didn’t get the win they would have been hoping for, they came away with a respectable 1-1 draw. A team like Perth does need to produce more wins to get into a finals spot, but for a side that is so bad on the road historically, I’ll give them a pass mark. Central Coast enjoyed a short break as they didn’t have to play last week, and the week prior they put in a solid showing when they hosted Wellington and came away with a 1-0 victory. Obviously Wellington at home is one of the easier tasks on the calendar, but for a team in their position, they’ll take every win they can get. Perth look like absolute morals here to me, I really don’t see them getting beaten. $2.15 looks super juicy too, I had them rated at $1.56.
