Securing the top price on a bet is one of the key factors in determining whether you are a winning or losing punter over the long term. Up until now, it has been a pain in the ass to find which bookie is offering the best price, but with BestOdds entering the market last year, this information has become a lot easier to find.
The latest update to the BestOdds website has added in new bookmakers taking the total to 16 bookies markets in the one comparison. Furthermore, they have also added in the ability to bet directly with three of those bookmakers (marked with a tick under ‘bet without leaving’) direct from the odds comparison.
Just in-time for spring, the biggest change to the software that I have been anticipating for some time is the addition of place markets. This is the market where I find the most value and discrepancies can be found between the bookies and it really is worth shopping around. Just because a bookie has the best win odds, it doesn’t guarantee they will be offering the best place price!
BestOdds is my first stop when looking at the futures markets for all the big races. My ticket on Rich Enuff to win the Guineas at $151 is thanks to the BestOdds website. I clicked through on each of the available links to the Guineas markets and found the Sportsbet market was still trading at the juicy odds after Rich Enuff’s huge win at Moonee Valley.
Finally, the one feature I really enjoy following on race day when on track and I don’t have access to my Betfair trading graphs, each odds comparison market shows you the opening price on Wednesday for the horse and which way the money has gone over time with a graph next to the horses name including the % the horses price has drifted or shortened.
It pays to shop around and is the difference between a good win and a great win.
