Just the one race sticks out like a sore thumb for me tomorrow and I can’t skip writing this one up. Short but sweet, and the confidence level as indicated is very high.

Duke of Brunswick comes into this race off two very strong runs this prep. First up was beaten 0.1L by Durendal, a horse that proved himself with two wins this prep in Victoria before running a bold 3rd over the QLD carnival. Duke of Brunswick with a significantly awesome ride from Smithy beat home Raposo at Moonee Valley last start who came out on the weekend and won very well at Moonee Valley in harder class than this. Behind Duke on that day was Herstory, a horse that was arguebly very unlucky last start, More Radiant, a horse that had won previously at Flemington down the straight in harder company than this today, and don’t forget Wild Rain who won by 2.5 lengths last weekend. The form around this horse is impossible to argue with. The main and only real chance on paper today is Monteux, a horse who has a peak run on a Good surface and failed to get within 3 lengths of Duke of Brunswick last start. Most importantly today, Duke has the inside barrier and can get a charmed run.
