Welcome to The Profits form guide for Sandown on 6 August 2014. Well, how good was Saturday? Our best day since The Championships up in Sydney.. it was a good way to start the new punting year! Much lower confidence bets today at Sandown so don’t go crazy with stakes… at maximum 1/3 what you bet on Saturday. As always, I hope your form matches up with mine. Good luck and happy punting!

Red means Top pick. Blue means second pick and Green refers to a saver pick. Orange means the pick looks value.
Race 3 Sandown
Not the type of race I normally like to get involved in but with the price available for Congress today it’s hard to resist. I’m expecting Walker to be able to jump him to get a nice spot out the front with little issue and that will be the key.
Confidence 75%
Strategy: 2 units Congress to win.
Race 5 Sandown
Two runners I like here.
Handsome Tycoon has done everything right this prep. Continues to go up in class but steps back today to a BM-70 out of 3YO grade. Maps very well and on times is well in today.
The other horse who sticks out is Awasita. I have a lot of time for this horse and her best has been found over the 1000m. Apprectiates a long straight and was 0.1L off Girl Guide here last prep. If fit, goes very close today and looks overs.
Confidence 75%
Strategy: 2 units Handstone Tycoon to win. 0.5 units Awasita to win.
Race 8 Sandown
No play here for me but I want to talk this one out.
Cottonwood Grove is a horse today that I could touch if we got $40+… I think we will. Just ignore last two runs. Will be suited by the distance and track today and Newitt onboard today is the key at the weights.
Ardelle is an unknown but represents slight value. 1.3L 2nd to Dig A Pony last start at Flemington and the track should suit today.. off 52.5kg you have to respect even from barrier 14.
The Terricks has had his chance the last few starts but continues to just not get there. Probably happens again at the weights.
Prince Jester is in the same boat as The Terricks.
Now and Zen forgive both last two runs.. if jumps today (you can’t trust the horse to do that) goes close. Good in-play bet if jumps well.
Adjuster did enough last start to suggest can go well in this class today.
Nordic Duke is hard to rate. 1.8L 2nd to Marksmanship looks good but I can’t trust here.
Confidence 0%
Strategy: Watch unless you get the right odds.
